Dr Tamsanqa Fikeni Medical Practice

Dr Fikeni is an experienced and qualified general medical practitioner and obstetrician practicing privately in Mount Frere (kwaBhaca), Eastern Cape. As a GP, Dr Fikeni examines patients and diagnoses and treats their various illness and ailments. He also treats minor injuries, and tends to various other medical needs. As an obstetrician, Dr Fikeni is trained and qualified in dealing with the care of women throughout pregnancy. This includes the period before birth, during birth, and in the period following birth.

Background and Qualifications

Dr Fikeni studied medicine at the University of Transkei, now known as Walter Sisulu University and obtained his MB ChB degree in November 2000. Dr Fikeni also has a Diploma in Obstetrics from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, obtained in May 2004, which concerns areas of applied maternal anatomy and physiology, fetal anatomy and physiology, pregnancy and labour. Dr Fikeni was registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent medical practitioner, in July 2003. (Reg No: MP 0539139)

Dr Fikeni aspires to provide excellent professional care and equity within all areas of general medical practice, as well as women’s health. As an obstetrician, Dr Fikeni dedicated to improving women’s health in South Africa, and to the maintenance of high ethical standards, professional conduct and preservation of patients’ dignity. Being a GP, Dr Fikeni has to be flexible yet responsible for seeing that the primary health care needs of his community are met and that his patients understand the importance of preventative care.
